Effective Speech and Communication Therapy for Children

Expressing Yourself. Understand Others.

We work passionately with you and your loved ones to improve verbal and non-verbal communication.

Effective communication skills are essential in ensuring you and your loved one can live your best life. Strong communication fosters rapport, ensures consistency in behavior interventions, and enhances the effectiveness of treatment plans. By using clear, concise, and compassionate language, our practitioners can better support skill development and behavior change in individuals with diverse needs.

At Raising Arrows Therapy, we believe communication is the foundation of meaningful connection. Whether it’s spoken words, gestures, facial expressions, or assistive technology, every interaction is an opportunity to build understanding and strengthen relationships. Our therapists take the time to get to know each individual’s unique communication style, strengths, and challenges. This is the cornerstone for effective speech and communication therapy for children.  This allows us to create personalized strategies that promote confidence, independence, and lasting progress.

We partner closely with families and caregivers, recognizing that you play the most important role in your loved one’s development. By working together, we can ensure that communication strategies are reinforced at home, school, and within the community. We provide coaching, hands-on training, and practical tools that make it easier to encourage positive interactions and reduce frustration in daily life.

Our approach draws on evidence-based practices, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), speech and language therapy techniques, and social skills training. We focus on teaching functional communication—skills that matter most in real-life situations. This may include requesting needs, expressing feelings, engaging in conversation, or navigating social settings with peers. For non-verbal individuals, we also explore the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and visual supports to expand opportunities for self-expression.

Every session is guided by compassion and patience. We celebrate every milestone, big or small, and remain committed to empowering individuals to communicate with clarity and confidence. By fostering strong communication, we help pave the way for more meaningful relationships, improved learning, and greater independence. Together, we can unlock your loved one’s full potential and create a future filled with understanding, connection, and growth.

Individual Treatment Plans For Unique Client Needs.

Our approach involves the entire family with an emphasis on your unique needs.

Sometimes children can make all the sounds necessary for speech but they cannot say what they mean to say. Conversely, they can hear just fine, but they struggle to understand what someone tells them.

Receptive language disorder: difficulty understanding what you are being told or processing written or verbal input.

Expressive language disorder: difficulty saying what you want to say in order to get your point or meaning across.

Studies have shown that as many as 5% of children have expressive and/or receptive language problems before they reach the first grade. Children that are on the autism spectrum and children whose second language is English often have expressive and receptive language disorders. We can help!
